Comment: I am interested in learning more about becoming a Mason. My father and his father have enjoyed Freemasonry in their Lodge in PA. However, as I live in Colorado Springs, it is difficlut for me to share the experience(s) with them directly. However, I would like to learn more about it and potentially become a member here in Colorado Springs.
Regards,
Todd Gould

Excellent site! Will be helpful in making announcements to the Brethren on the Colorado Masons email list. Our list allows us to send announcements, discussion, etc. to all members. This way, we can hopefully improve attendance at events, keep Brethren informed, increase visitation between Lodges, and generally increase Masonic interest through discussion. If anyone would like to join, it is free. Just send a blank message to co-masons-subscribe@egroups.com or I can add you if you write me (turners@bigfoot.com).
Let's promote our Fraternity and improve communications within.
Take care, and keep seeking the Light!

I lived in Buena Vista for many years and I am really ashamed I never visited your beautiful Lodge. Was "Simpkins Store in the Colorado Springs area.?

Webmasters Note: About you question of Simpkins Store, it was and still is located on the northern edge of South Park, roughly halfway between Buena Vista and Colorado Springs. It is set up (much like the picture) as a museum in a small town in South Park. The lodge is still there and they have an annual event where there is a BBQ picnic and several lodge meetings are help in the Simpkins Store lodge room (it only holds about 20-30 people). It is a wonderful look into what lodge in frontier Colorado must have been like.

Comment: For about a year I've been thinking about becoming a Mason. My father says that it will be a good advantage in life if I were to join, since I would get to know so many men of different occupations in life. I know that I have what it takes to become a Master Mason. I profess a belief in God, I respect all laws and follow the good teachings of the Bible, I believe that I am of good moral character and I have an appetite for learning and giving as much as I can to Masonry. These past few days I've been doing a lot research about Masonry. I learned many different and interesting facts about the fraternity and what is done within its walls. I got to the point were I knew that by next year, when I would turn 21, that I wanted to become a Mason and better my Life and Myself. So I talked to a Master Mason, which I have only known for a few months but really did'nt talk to him much, and the first thing he said was, "how old are you?", I said 20, then he said come back to me when you turn 21, of course I said okay and I decided to ask him some questions, but he did'nt answer me. I understood, since some things in Masonry are to be kept secret. So as I kept doing research, I ran into something that completely confused me and in a sort of way angered me, and that is, why does Masonry allow anti-christian(though I am Catholic) religions join the fraternity or religions that are against other religions. Why allow this type of racism in Masonry? I'm still very interested in becoming a Mason and pursuing a Masonic career. So I would really appreciate if a Mason can answer that question for me a.s.a.p.

I would like to tell you about the District Eight Masonic Charities Bookstore.
We have developed the best Masonic bookstore on the web and the referral fees generated will be put into charities. Please stop by and read some of the reviews of the books by Brethern and hopefully see a book you like.

Brother, seems like yesterday ('91) that I was talking to Brother Vic Sestakos about becoming a Mason. A quick change of station thwarted my efforts. I have however started that great journey. My wife is from the Springs, which is where we will retire. Hope to then become part of the Colorado Masonic Family. Until then, I am Fraternally, Brother Ray Dunn  Phoenix Lodge No. 8, Fayetteville, NC. A&ASR, Valley of New Bern. Sudan Temple, Oasis of  North Carolina.
